Heron’s Highlights:
(written by the Coaches!)
It has been a great week! To prepare for the upcoming meet, we have been working on our butterfly and breaststroke technique. This includes two hand touches, stroke and kick patterns and when to breath. We have been practicing a lot of dives and flip turns, which are vital parts of swimming. The kids have been great listeners and continue to improve each day. We are so proud of everyone’s hard work.
A special shout out to this week’s Swimmers of the Week:
6-under: Olivia Hawkins
7-8: Kennedy Kirby
9-10: Rhys Barnett
11-12: Lucy Templeton
13-14: Stephen Kreller
Westhaven Blue Herons 797 vs Temple Hills 361
Congratulations on a noteworthy win on Monday! We know it was taxing on our volunteers to run the entire meet and we appreciate all of you who gave your time to the team to make sure all of the shifts were covered. We had some great swims and it was fun to see all of the improvement from the week prior. You should be able to see how much improvement you swimmer made by looking at the results on the SwimminglyFan app. Unfortunately, when the results were combined with Temple Hills for the virtual meet scores, there was a glitch in the system and we’ve been waiting for the Swimmingly IT department to help us figure out how to share those results with you. As soon as it’s figure out, we will send them. The ribbons were given out based solely on the meet that we ran.
Looking Ahead

Williamson County Summer Swim League
We are excited to share that in our inaugural year, we have the largest summer swim team in the league.
“Championship Meet”
Due to the craziness of this past year, the league decided not to host a live Championship meet this summer. The league reps will be pulling all of the best times swum throughout the dual meet season and compiling a list of season best times in each age group/ gender to calculate the Top 8 scorers. League Awards will be given based on these numbers. They will also be giving awards for the Division Champions and Runner-Ups. Divisions are based on roster size. Westhaven Swim Team is in Division 5 along with Fieldstone Farms, Nolensville and Longview.
There will be an awards presentation for the winners on Wednesday, June 30th @ 6:30 pm at Granny White Park Pavilion. Parents of award recipients will be notified through email.
As always, thank you for your continued support and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
